I wrote this back in 2001. It's the second version of my homage to a certain sci-fi classic involving a spaceship in the middle of nowhere and a mysterious distress signal (or warning beacon). Lots of people enjoyed it, despite the bugs. It still seems to work pretty well under 4.0, but if you can make it better, please do.
