I will host 2 contests where I will be giving out 5 BYOND memberships all together if I can get enough participants. You can win at least 2 memberships, 1 per contest. Please list if you're interested in entering this contest and which part(graphics, programming, or both), If there is enough people for both contests I will host it. I'll give a time limit for each contest after I decide wether or not enough people will participate. You may give away your BYOND membership to someone else if you win one.
I'm hoping this contest will get a lot of people to make some fun games on BYOND.
The first contest will be for artists.
The second contest will be for programmers.
Contest 1
Description/Rules:
- All art must be your own art or a team(only one of you will get the prize though, unless you win both contests and there is only 2 of you. Then you could each have a membership =)) effort done by you and friends. No taking graphics from other games or off sites, you'll be kicked out of the contest if that is the case. It must be new art that is not all ready in a game, if you made it awhile back and have never used it you may enter it.
- Draw terrain, mobs, objects, the components for a game. Some more thigs you could draw: vehicles, planes, rain, snow, anything you can think of that a person could use in their game. Enough graphics that someone could make a game out of it.
- These graphics will be usuable by anyone if submitted to this contest. They will be the only graphics that people can use the the 2'nd contest as well.
How to win:
BYOND Membership # 1 - Everyone will get 2 votes. You may only votes once per person, you may vote for yourself but you must use 2 votes. Vote on the quality of entree's artwork and if there is enough to make a game out of it. I will log IP's to make sure you don't multikey.
BYOND Membership # 2 - I will give a Membership to who's art I think is the best and most suitable for a game. If you make a small map(up to 21x18 tiles)(picture) making your art look like it's in a game for an added bonus you'll get an extra vote for yourself.
Contest 2
Description/Rules:
- After the first contest is over the graphics from the first contest will be open for everyone to download. You are to make a game ONLY out of graphics made in the first contest. You are allowed to use outside sounds and music for your game. I may make some sound effects for people to use, just request some and I'll try to make them.
- Your game does not have to be open source. You can use as many libraries as you want.
- The game can be short or long as long as it's fun. I tend to like strategy games :).
How to win:
BYOND Membership # 3 - Everyone will get 2 votes. You may only vote once per entree. Base your vote on gameplay, creativity, design, and most of all, how fun it is. I will log IP's to make sure you don't multikey.
BYOND Membership # 4 - I will give a BYOND membership to who I think made the best game.
BYOND Membership # 5:
- Everyone who entered ether contest, excluding people who won a membership from ether contest, will be entered into a drawing. The lucky winner of that drawing will get a BYOND Membership. |
