Spuzzum	Does anyone else besides me like the livery of German, Polish, Dutch, etc. police cars more than the American versions? I love them! Yellow and white with caution stripes... I'll have to adopt those for my sci-fi MUD whenever I get around to it.

Yeah, I like those too!

One of the neatest things I saw on TLC a couple months ago is their testing of a new siren. In tests, it showed that 20% more people reacted faster and were able to get out of the way. Simply put, it added a burst of white noise (i.e. static) after every wail.

Supposedly, the extra burst of white noise helps clear the receptors of the human ear, making it so a driver can more easily detect the source of the sound and compensate as they should (moving onto the shoulder or out of the fast lanes).

Pretty nifty stuff.
