Yes, becuase we are all sure you could do that all just as well.

It's parkour, not "russian climber". =p I dunno if parkour is a big thing in America but it's done quite a lot over here...it's a French thing.

Either way, that guy totally reminds me of some kind of evolved monkey!
Clips from this video were featured in a recent 20/20 story about why some teens take big risks. Apparently their nervous system is unusually low in arousal, so they do crazy stuff like this (and much more dangerous, like riding on the roofs of cars) to compensate.

Sure he could -- if he practiced and rehearsed just as much as the guy in this video.

It's an okay video, but I've seen way better. He looks pretty amatuer, but it's still pretty cool none-the-less. You should look up a freerunner/jumper they call Spiderman. I saw a video of his, and it was just insane. Puts this guy to shame without a doubt. I'll look for the link and post it here if I find it.

Oh, and if you wanna see a GOOD rehearsed parkour scene, look here: http://www.spikedhumor.com/articles/1011/ High_Speed_Chase.html

Actually, would you believe this is a form of relaxation? It's not viewed by traceurs to be some extreme sport, but rather a form of art.

Except for that jump through the window above the door, and that REALLY long building jump near the end, I'm not too impressed.

I'm certain they make many many runs before shooting a video, and at least make sure the routes check out before attempting, what are obviously, practiced stunts. Still, it is something to watch. Notice, too, the gymnastic equipment, I'm sure they didn't just wake up one day and decide to leap rooftops....

Apparently the guys sees this as a sport and does like to cover unfamiliar areas :P. http://www.le-parkour.com/ . Though the flips and stuff aren't part of the sport he just likes to do them because he took gymnastics.

The only thing I could fine for "spiderman" with "parkour" was http://www.spikedhumor.com/articles/854/ The_Real_Spider_Man.html

Which from what I can tell is David Belle, the founder of Parkour. He's the same guy who's in the highspeedchase video you linked. There's a documentary on google video about him/parkour, here.

Your video was not much better at all. That dude had to have rehearsed just like you said the others guys might've. Doing that sort of thing without failing would be hard.

Besides, it's not as if they did that whole thing as filmed anyway. That film was cut and shot from too many different angles to have done so.

Was it just coincidence that they got all those camera angles without seeing the cameraman once?

No one ever said that wasn't rehearsed. I believe that scene is from the movie Banlieue 13.

No seriously, it's nothing at all.

I've seen kids do most of the stunts he does, not on such a risky level of course - but the same concept, in Taekwondo classes >_>'.

Search Limewire for martial art tricks to see some real moves.
It kind of reminds me of what my Shorinji Kempo Sensei used to tell me: "Once you realize that you aren't made of glass, and you take a few hits, and find your limits, You come to see that you have no limits, and what you once saw as life's barriers are only obstacles to be tackled."

Awesome find, by the way. I watched that like 10 times, and I still can't figure out: Is the shirtless guy bleeding toward the end?

I'd only ever heard of these guys in like, france. I'd never heard of Russian Urban Acrobats... I guess eventually, you run your home streets long enough, you find little areas with a little bit of a need to be conquered.

Leftley and Xooxer are right; even though this sport is dangerous, look at how many cuttings they took. These guys aren't morons, generally, they perform sweeps of areas, looking for areas that need to be conquered. Then, they run that area over and over, looking for not only dangerous parts of it, such as chunks of glass, loose rocks, etc. Clean it, and rehearse the trick, revise, rehearse, and do it over and over until it is perfect.

I saw an interview with a parkour group once, and they said they usually scouted their runs two to three days in advance, videotaped them, and then ran over every single spot on the routes, then mapped a route, and rehearsed it. Then, they'd run a group of six or seven guys through it, and they'd basically play "follow the leader", but with some improv attached. They take the best stunts from the whole group, then have one or two guys practice it, and learn it by heart until they are ready to tape the run.

Alltogether, I'd say it's about as dangerous as jumping on a trampoline, or skateboarding. Albeit, it's still hardcore as hell.

Plus, humans greatly underestimate what their bodies can do. Physics is working FOR these guys. What most people don't understand is that when you hit the ground, you don't absorb the force until your body fully compacts into the ground. If you roll your body away from the impact, the force is diverted over a larger area of your body, and less on key points. Falls of up generally about 30ft can be completely harmless to a person if they know how to maximize the area they conact the ground with, and how they continue with the momentum they gain.

These guys aren't just acrobats, this is a genuine form of expression. It's not some psychotic deathwish, it is mastery of the mind and body. It's mental creativity with a physical outlet. I, for one, find it incredible.
