.dmi unable to read

Yesterday i saved my game im working on and today i go to open it and it works fne but when i want to click on a .dmi file or an icon file it gives me a message that it it "unable to read (whatever).dmi. i do not know what is going on?

error message reading "Unable to open Person.dmi

The file you were using is probably corrupted, but we would need to be able to download this file ourselves to confirm.
