Some tools for comparing two (or more?) icons would be really useful. I'd love to be able to bring up icons side-by-side, without multiple Dream Maker windows.

As well as that, I think guidelines would be great tools too. What I mean by that is if you were to click in a certain way on an icon you could add horizontal and/or vertical lines as overlays that don't actually affect the look of the icon in-game at all, but would then show up on every icon you edit until you turn them off or do new ones.

These two tools would really help me personally, and I'm sure would be invaluable tools to many other pixel artists.
