What is your favorite RPG from the sixth generation consoles? That's PS2, Gamecube, XBOX, and Dreamcast.
I can't talk about seventh since the only time I've ever played a seventh generation is at the electronics department in Wal-Mart.
I've played Grandia Xtreme, Final Fantasy X, Dragon Quest VIII, Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, Tales of Symphonia, dothack//GU, Shining Tears, and Arc the Lad: End of Darkness.
Dragon Quest VIII comes out on top of course, with Star Ocean, Shining Tears, and Arc the Lad being at the bottom for sure. FFX, Grandia, Symphonia and Dothack were all pretty good, but there was something about DQ that still beat them in the end. Dragon Quest seemed to have everything perfected from the gameplay to the soundtrack. The storyline even had me impressed which is a big one considering the fact that I rarely play games and enjoy the story behind them. It just seemed like there was a lot more to do compared to something like Final Fantasy. Ride boats, fly on huge birds, catch monsters and battle them in the Monster Arena. Plus I'm a sucker for anime-inspired graphics.
But seriously, back to the soundtrack. Tell me you couldn't listen to this all day long.
