Avainer: What got you into BYOND? Do you ever regret joining BYOND?
ExPixel: tually got to BYOND by using google. I don't regret joining it at all, I was actually going to quit everything then I reconsidered programming after joining BYOND.
Avainer : How did you learn how to program?
Expixel:I wish I knew the answer to that. One day I was surfing around on the internet and the idea hit me to make my own game. The somehow over the years I slowly learned random bits of information that later formed my kowledge of different programming languages.
Avainer: Name the developers that you really respect ?
Expixel:I respect Garthor because he answered every question that I have ever asked on the forums myself. I don't think he's around anymore but he made a huge contribution to the community. Another developer I really respect is DiviveTraveller because he's also helped me out with many problems with DM and other programming languages. Calus CoRPS is just a good person and general and so is Stephen001.
Avainer: Regarding your rather helpful libraries; why did you create them?
Ex Pixel They are usually things I used or planned on using then after a while I decide to just share them with everyone else in the community.
Avainer: Iíve seen people saying Ď I am not Expixel levelí, do you consider yourself an expert at DM?
ExPixel: I've never seen anyone say that...EVER. I know most of the reference by now (except for SLIDE_STEPS but who could blame me?) but I wouldn't call myself an expert. I'm no expert in programming logic, I'm good at problem solving but there are somethings I haven't developed the necessary skills for yet though I am working on it.
Avainer: What do you think programming is all about?
ExPixel: Absolutely. Like many other people, I use to think that programming was all about math. Don't get me wrong I'm not bad at math (I can do it pretty well when I'm not being lazy) but that was a deterrent for me at first. I do math so that I can get a good job. Now I think programming is all about creativity and a little logic so that you can find the answers to problems in your code and so that you can write code in a way that it will meet your needs. For me it's like a puzzle where you arrange the pieces in a way that they will work in the way that you inteded for them to work. Sometimes you will have a misplaced piece or a piece that doens't belong and you need the skills to find such a problem and fix it. Most people have such an ability so it isn't too hard to get into programming in my opinion, but others may have different thoughts about this.
Avainer:What is your favorite gaming genre?
Expixel: I don't play games much actually. I find playing a game for too long boring. But I don't know if I have a favourite (I like writing it that way) genre. As long as a game is fun I have no problems playing it no matter what it is.
Avainer: Do you have any advices to the new programmers reading this?
ExPixel: I don't really think I'm fit for giving advice but okay. Don't "copy n' paste", it makes you look bad.
Avainer :Can you do art for mai game?
Expixel: Nope. I fail at art. I have an imagination but putting it on paper or onto any sort of screen is just impossible for me
Avainer: Do you love me?
