windows security essentials and use windows built in firewall. You cant really get hacked through dream daemon, well unless the person hacking you is Tom, Lummox and co., but I assure you they have better things to do with their time :)

A shell is not a server, a dedicated machine, or a login method. A shell is simply a text-based command-line interface one layer above the OS.

e.g.: DOS, (BA/DA)SH, C shell, etc.
