Variable Values

I actually just have a quick question about variables. I want to give my players a variable called "Trait" and in said "Trait" will be things such as "heroic, strong, etc."

I just reviewed Variables in the DM Guide, and it seems that a var can only hold one value if I'm understanding it right. IF this is the case should I just create a variable for each trait, and if not, could anyone point me in the right direction of how to assign multiple values to a variable.

What you want is called a list. So your variable would hold the list, and the list would hold each trait.
