Today I got a satellite connection. Go me. :) But I can't seem to host. I don't have access to the server, because it's my Dad's, and he doesn't let anyone mess with it. I was wondering if there is a way to let me host without messing around with the server. If there isn't a way, how can I do it on the server? I'm hoping it's not a built in, unalterable firewall. :(

If I remeber correctly, you can't upload anything through a satelite connection. This sounds like it would have effects on the hosting of byond.

You can upload, it's just alot slower than downloading. Uploading is 50k I believe, and download is 800k max.

I was told you needed a separete 56k connection to upload over stelite DSL. That was awhile ago though, my dads freind might have had a different type of service than you also. If you can upload then that shoots the hell outa my theory.

There are two-way satellite internet services these days.
