When I had set tick_lag to 0.01 in the last release, and I held down 6 on the numeric keypad (which by nature changed my dir 45 degrees right), I spun around about 100 times faster than normal. What I'm saying is that tick_lag worked below 1 on my machine before you actually supported it...
