Ok I just made this DM file:
world
{
mob = /mob/player
turf = /turf/ground
}
mob/player
{
desc = "Quite a studly dude!"
icon = player.dmi
}
obj/flutz
{
name = "Super Duper Flutz"
suffix = "squishy squishy"
desc = "Looks like a squishy ball"
icon = flutz.dmi
}
turf/ground
{
icon = ground.dmi
}
Now how do I actually make a world out of it with the map editor?

Now how do I actually make a world out of it with the map > editor? I am new too, but I think in this case I can help you. :) In DreamMaker: [File] - [New] - [Map File] Now you are in the map editor. Maybe it's necessary to compile your code before you can create a map. If you are in the map editor and your code is compiled you can select the items in the object menue on the left and scatter them on the map. It isn't too difficult. |

And I have another question for it if anyone wants to add it...can you have objects or mobs or something bigger than 1 tile for example if you wanted a big dragon or something? Unfortunately not. Well, it IS possible, but it takes a lot of messy code, to the point that not even I want to launch into any heavy detail about it. If you want objects bigger than 1 tile, though, usually you just make two objects beside each other in the map editor, unless you're going to be able to move the objects at some point. For an example of that effect, if you use RPG Maker, you'll know you have to place objects piece by piece. It is a good question for the FAQ, though. =) |
Nevermind just read the FAQ, cool faq by the way. And I have another question for it if anyone wants to add it...can you have objects or mobs or something bigger than 1 tile for example if you wanted a big dragon or something?
