Person isn't on the ban list. I kicked them from the game but turns out Byond just bans people with every kick and bans default to NEVER which is really idiotic.
Removed them from the ban list in Dream Daemon. Restarted the server. Restarted Dream Daemon. They're still banned. This is really pissing me off.
I kicked them using Dream Daemon. Not an in-game verb.
I have no idea what you're referring to with pager bans. There is no one on the Dream Daemon ban list, nor anyone under "blocked" on my BYOND account. Yet, the user remains banned. |
Hi Neil,
In your BYOND config folder (usually [My Documents]\BYOND\cfg on windows or .byond/cfg on linux), do you have a file called 'ban.txt'? If so, open it and see if the user in question or an unknown ip-address (presumably corresponding the user) is listed. If so, there's the problem-- but it is a bug if the contents are not showing up in the DD GUI. To confirm, rename this file (preserve it as we will want to see what's happened here) and restart DD. You may also see files called 'hostban.txt', 'keyban.txt', and 'ipban.txt'-- these are old and can be deleted (but back them up to a temp folder for the same reasons as above). The only other possibility I think is that there is code on the server-end that is using its own ban system, based off the initial bans sent from DD. If that is the case, you'll have to see what it looks like. The relevant procs for that are: http://www.byond.com/docs/ref/info.html#/world/proc/IsBanned http://www.byond.com/docs/ref/info.html#/world/proc/ GetConfig Let us know if this helps. Sorry for the troubles. Obviously if this is a bug in our system, we want to fix it. |
IF you kicked them with a verb in the game, then speak to the programmer who made the code, it's not BYOND's problem.
