This issue has been resolved.
Add a way for an /atom (and /image) to not inherit its parent's color when used as an overlay.

I found it pretty weird that overlays inheriting the base object's color was the default behavior. I'd definitely love to see this implemented.

Yes please. I could save a lot of object instances if this were possible.

The inclusion of appearance_flags and RESET_COLOR allow users to control whether or not overlays inherit the color of its parent.
