Well, as some of you remember, I posted a topic for an idea for a BYOND casino. Well I got to thinking about it and thought that that would be to risky, and not such a great idea after all.

But then someone gave me an idea for a BYOND raffle. It would be a safe way, and fun way to ern a buck if you could.

It would work like this:

You d/l the game.

You run the game.

You pay 2 dimes for a ticket, which the ticket and all entries will be saved in a hubfile.

Then on set dates (Say every friday or so) I will run, host it so people can watch the game, and use a special Kunark-only command that picks a random person from all the people who bought a ticket (One ticket only) and gives them a talley mark. I will then do this over and over again till one person erns say 3 talley marks. Then that is the winner.

I will then transfer all dimes that were entered into the BYOND raffle bank (Special BYOND account for announcing the winner, keeping the dimes safe, and transferring the dimes to the winner.) to the winner.

So if 20 people entered them a ticket each, whoever the winner was, would get 40 dimes (Because each ticket would cost 2 dimes) from the BYOND raffle bank.

Soo... What does everyone think about this idea?
thats a risky idea, problem is im sure only about 10 peeps in the whole of byond would put ther dimes at risk. tho i would play maybe twice no more tho
That's actually a pretty good idea, the problem is the use of real money, how about getting together with game authors and having people win free 1 month subscriptions and things like that? No one would be at lose of any dimes that way, the buying can be changed to in-game money (which is also won with the subscription) and if you're out of money you're done.
It'd be a nice idea, I for one, would play occasionally, as 2 dimes isn't really a lot of money (Even though to some people it is =/). Other than that, it'd be nice to see somethin sort of a "lotto" on byond. :)

hmm... *thinks of a way to help the benefit* Ahh yes, Here's what ya can do. First raffle, whoever wins gets a lifetime subscription to my Final Fantasy XL game. ;)

Good idea, but problem with that would be, people who enter contest wouldn't lose money, but game makers that let winners have free subscribsions would lose out... Unless the people payed money for the in-game money, but then they would be using money again.

Ok, I will turn this idea into a game and see how it turns out. You will be able to know who the winner was to get a Lifetime subscribtion to your game by the post I will post each time a winner is choosen... (Not sure what forum that post would go into, I'm thinkin it would have to be put into Babble, but not sure. Maybe if it's more disirable to everyone, I will make a new EZboard forum for it, but that takes quite a bit of work considering all the options and regestry you have to go through :P)

Which is why I said one month's worth, no lose there.
Here's an idea. Owners of subscription games join a sort of community. When someone subscribes to the game, they get a free entrance, or two, or three, depending on the dimes they spend, to win ANOTHER subscription. That way, not only does it make the games more popular (Hey, I could get 2 subscriptions for the price of 1!) but it doesn't use money at all.

Stop saying people are ripping off your games no matter what, if you haven't released it, too bad, no one cares, if you have released it, too bad, no one cares, the only time someone cares is if it's an exact copy of your game, so drop the whole "I started this project so you can't now!" thing, okay?

Thats OK if you have that, it isnt online yet in your BYOND hub... This one is like 1 proc from being done now, and it's called "BYOND Raffle!"
