I want to make a casino for BYOND. I was wandering if that would be legal to do....

I think it would be fun, I could have a Token area where the casino games are free and also have a BYOND dimes area...

And then for when you donate for BYONDDime tokens, your BYONDDimes would go to a holder BYOND account wallet (Not mine, one that is for use only with the casino) and if you win the jackpot on a game and such, It will give you that ammount in BYOND Dimes from that holder account.

What do you guys think?
You either need a liscense to run a casino (online or otherwise) or live in an area where that's legal. I'm pretty sure it might be a combination of the too, leaning more towards the latter.

Hmm It would still be fun to make a casino (It is ilegal in Utah) I should just make it free, but I dont know what i would put as a reward.... You dont go to a casino unless you want to win something.

Internet and state laws dont mix.

Depends on where the server is. US law can't regulate it if it's in another country. You should hire an international lawyer for consulting though, because I'm sure there are tons of things that must be considered that I'm completely unaware of. For instance, it would suck if you couldn't upload your software to your foreign from a computer in the US.

It might be worth noting that games of skill are legal. I was considering a Tanks tournament at one time where everyone buys in at 10 dimes each. The winner gets 50% of the pot, second place 20%, and third place 10% (leaving me 20% for organizing, acting as referee, and hosting the event). At the time, there were few dimes circulating, so I forgot about it until your post reminded me.

Heh. I can't even play Garthor's game "Fantasy Life" without breaking my fishing pole 90% of the time, despite the fact that it's a prob(10) break. I am against a BYOND Casino, sorry, I can't support everything. :P

Well if its worth real money, in my OWN rules, there has to be a good chance of winning... Or else no one will win and it will lose popularity, right? Wich means no money which means BYOND Casino goes bankrupt. Of course everyone cant win every time, but there will be good odds of winning and I will post the odds in each game.

Also its not like the lottery (1 in 60,000,000 cance of winning) Stuff like slot machines and stuff have small rewards too so you dont have to lose your money, sometimes you'll just get back what you already had or slightly over that amount.

Also this game me an idea. If I had strait Dimes come from the casino games, people wouldnt play um for long cause it would cost um to much. So I was thinking everything have tokens, and the way the casino gets money is through monthly subscribtion, and have it so there are daily/weekly/monthly drawings and the reward depends how much money is in the casinos wallet (Of couse it will tell you before how much it is).

You sure it's not a prob(10) of *not* breaking? ;-)

Yeah, I don't support gambling either, but not simply because of the luckiness involved. Overall, any casino is out to make a profit -- as most casinos stand, they take anywhere from 3-7% of all money passing through (they weight probabilities); the rest is made as payouts.

In other words, as has been said, "Gambling is a tax for people who can't do math."

BYOND RAFFLE: each person that wants to enter gives 2 byond dimes.. that is all counted and then every month their would be a game called the Drawing for the byond raffle.. they would have a proc,, etc and it spin and pick a rand person.. that winner gets ALL THE byonddimes that was given towards the raffle..

but you gotta collect the names of players.

Hmm that sounds like the best idea... How many of you would like that?
