Perhaps as an experiment, you should implement a script that, when restart is called, it kills the process and reboots it, thus doing a full restart.
My developer did this some time ago to solve some issues, and it seemed to work pretty well.

if anything, it may improve your performance a little, if better, if it prevents your problem, we'll know why.
Since we have this thread still open as well, I'm going to close it for release note purposes since there's a fix to del() that has a minor impact on objs and mobs, along with some more tweaks.
Lummox JR resolved issue with message:
When objs and mobs were deleted, their deletion could take longer than it should if any images were in use in the world, even if the obj/mob itself had no references left.
Of course closing this thread for the notes means Ter gets credit for a bug I found serendipitously while talking to Nadrew, but hey, his efforts were a big help. I mentioned the performance tweaks as a feature; I suspect those will be a much bigger deal.
