Hello, I've recently decided to take the plunge into byond.

I am running ArchLinux x64 Kernel: 3.14.4, and PlayOnLinux 4.2.2, with Byond in it's own wineprefix set to Wine32 5.1.29.

I've installed all the fonts (using allfonts) from winetricks, but when I play Eternia: Roleplay[1], I am unable to read certain sections of the UI like what I assume to be a race selection screen, or spell screen. I have made an Imgur album[2]. I am wondering if anyone has had this issue, I'm thinking it might be a font encoding (like using CP-1252 instead of UTF-8) or a font I just don't have. Anyone experience this in this or other byond games?

The text you're missing is all maptext, so there's gotta be something with Wine's implementation of GDI or DirectX that's preventing it from rendering. Not quite sure what, but I figured I'd give you some information to help you along.
I know I am late big time, but um, for future people who had the font problems.

1. It's because the current stable wine version messes up fonts. That was a documented bug.
2. It's fixed in wine 1.7.22+ (install it for your distro).
3. You need to install Windows truetype fonts, and then after http://www.4shared.com/zip/JOXR97t9/ Windows-Original-Fonts.html?locale=en --- Download these fonts, copy and paste it to the windows>font folder in the virtual c:// drive.

So, when I was using the latest Ubuntu, that worked great for fonts. ^-^
