It looks like your flips (east/west) and spins (somersaults, backflips) could easily (and very smoothly) be done using animate() and transform. Saves on resources, too.
But then you'd get a nasty filter over his beautiful pixels, wouldn't you?
The problem with animate() when it comes to flipping is that it flips the matrix and that includes overlays which was flipping the "P1". I am currently using Flip(). The roll and backflip with animate()'s ugly AAing looked horrible. I will be touching up the animations on both of those to make them smoother.
