The good icon makers around here don't make icons for GM status, they make them for cold hard cash.

I have some free icons I made at:
AbyssDragon.TheAbyss.

Look under UglyCharacters and UglyTiles. Despite their names, they're not that bad.

Typically people either suck at drawing, or suck at programming... I was lucky enough to have a friend who can draw decent icons... and in return, I write cool music for him :) Try to find someone who's art is cool that wants something ~you~ have. And most artists only draw for games that are already working. So for now, do what I did, and make stick figures (yes, you heard me, I had stick figures on my game), and after you get a working game going, THEN ask for help with icons... I can't tell you how many times this has proven true :)
