I'm trying to setup a keywords system, so that instead of refering to an object by its name only, I could just type in certain keywords, like if I had a tree stump in the center of a room, I could refer to it as tree, stump, table, or something to that effect. I want this to work from a list containing all the keywords.

I'm at a loss. Could someone point me in the right direction for how to do this? Are there any working examples around that I missed?

Not yet, but Zilal is about to release (I believe) a parsing library that does a lot of what you want. You may want to look into it once its released. I know she has an unreleased beta version of it, she might be willing to give it to you now if you ask nicely :-)

By the way, since I haven't seen you around until recently, welcome to BYOND. Newbies who know where the shift key is are a rarity around here, and its always good to see more :-)
