Cannot play BYOND or SNES

i cannot play BYOND or SNES games. whenever I run them, the graphics mess up and my computer freezes. then after a short amount of time, it restarts.

i haven't tested any other 3D game like Grand Theft Auto (because I just installed a fresh copy of windows a few days ago and haven't installed/downloaded any good games) but a game named Ignition that I downloaded for my mother runs perfectly.

also, whenever i try to test direct3D in directX, the computer hangs and restarts. i tried re-installing directX but it doesn't work.

is this my graphics card problem or what? please reply i might buy a new graphics card soon if i don't get any replies :(

Zaoshi	Do you have correct drivers installed? Are they latest version?

Lummox JR	This is definitely an issue with your graphics card. I'd make sure the drivers are in good shape first, but to be honest the freezing and restarting sounds like this is potentially a hardware problem. You may need to replace the card outright, but do any software diagnostics you can first.
