So, a friend of my mom came over today and said that her VAIO notebook is very slow at startup. I've been disabling some unneccesary programs with msconfig. Still, it has a slow startup. I'm guessing this has to do with the software of VAIO itself, you can't seem to disable them with msconfig on startup.

So I was wondering, is there any way to disable them from startup with something else then msconfig or does a VAIO notebook really requires their software, if not, would it be smart to uninstall it?

Thanks in advance,
Raimo.
The software that comes with the Sony VAIO is built into the operating system, the bios, and the hard-drive. Removing them entirely would do more harm then good. My laptop has no such problems, and I have not removed them. You can disable the ones built into the OS with msconfig. Most of them are under the services tab. Here's some things you can do that will most likely speed it up. Hit the assist button, and run the programs under System care. Go to power management, and switch it to high performance. Install and run CCleaner.
Check for virus...

Generally speaking, removing such programs might do more harm for the less technically inclined user. There are cases when an executable loads certain driver extras. If in doubt, research google (or your preferred search engine).

Be cautious staking blind trust in advice from any given website. Also be careful what you are downloading. The reputation of the site and/or software is fairly important. You don't need to download programs that remove programs. You can however use cleaning tools. I'll list the 5 tools I use once a week:

CCleaner:

AML Free Registry Cleaner:

Eusing Free Registry Cleaner:

Auslogics Disk Defrag:

This last link is the Auslogics registry defrag but this tool now costs to use it. I'll give the newer paid link as well:
