What type of card should I get that can handle heavy loads of music related tasks? I am an avid music listener and babble in music production. If anyone is familiar with Guitar Pro, http://www.guitar-pro.com/en/index.php, uses a program, called RSE (Realistic Sound Engine), which heavily depends on the sound card for the sound it produces. What do you guys think would be a good card for all of the above?
I'm no expert, but I believe most modern motherboards come with powerful built-in sound hardware, rendering sound cards obsolete. The only additional hardware you should need is stuff to connect your equipment to your PC.

The reason Guitar Pro sounds different on various systems is because it seems to deal exclusively with MIDI files. You should look into MOD tracking, there are a few good articles about it in the Audiophiles guild. It's similar to MIDI tracking, only it's much more versatile.
