So I've been thinking of offering free MySQL hosting for devs here on BYOND.
My idea was to have strategic locations setup around the US and possibly other locations for Geo located services.
Each one of these boxes would be replicating, meaning if you used the server closest to your physical or your servers physical location you'll not see much of a speed decrease when pulling, pushing data to the database and it would be replicated across the entire set of servers.
For this to turn into reality I need to guage how many of you are using MySQL in your projects, I've got a feeling many of you don't so this may be a useless idea..

That would increase the number of people willing to Dev for Byond.
Actually, I think Tom or Lummox should invest in some shell hosting technology for people who cannot host a server 24/7....
