Alright, so basically I'm hunting for a mod-range laptop to replace my old one that is extremely outdated. I don't need anything high end as I have a desktop for performance.

Anyways, I was looking at two on New-Egg and I'm trying to figure out which will out preform the other.

The two key things I'm looking at is GPU and CPU. I'd like to have a decent processor and a graphics card that can handle the basics. I've never been fond of Intel's integrated cards(If they're even considered Graphics Cards...).

These two seem decent for their price points. The first one says it's like 700, but I've seen it on sale a lot for around 470-500. The second one is 400$.

Here is the grand question I have, which CPU will preform better, and which GPU will preform better? Which is the better device?

Also keep in mind, the first one is dual core and the second is quad.
You just answered your own question. If you are just doing "basic" stuff, you don't need four cores. There's no point in buying something you're not going to utilize.

I'm trying to get the best deal I can in my price range(500$). Meaning the best hardware for the least amount of money.

I just don't know which one will actually preform better.
Once again, the quad cores will only perform better if you actually plan on multi-tasking. If you buy quad cores, and then don't actually put your computer in a situation where it gets to use all four cores, you'll never notice a difference.

If you're doing basic things like checking email or watching cat videos on YouTube, the duo core is all you need. If you plan on checking email, watching cat videos on YouTube while also having Skyrim open and a video rendering in Sony Vegas, that's when quad cores are necessary.
I'd take the dual core with the dedicated video ram rather than the quad with shared memory. Well, I'll take either of them if anyone wants to send one my way ;)

I didn't even see that it was shared memory. Good point!

I also found this one:

CPU looks good, but it's also shared memory. Now I'm trying to decide between this one and the first. =@
