Hello Readers! For us here in the U.S, today was Veterans day and Remembrance day in Canada, remember to appreciate your armed service members, past and present!

BYOND

After taking a moment for the passing of Dust Bunny and an extra long Halloween night, Lummox JR has been busy getting BYOND 509 out the door as stable. High resolution options have been added, and many bugs have been resolved, with one bug holding things up. Features have been laid out for several aspects of the suite, including more appearance features, more ad-control for developers, and features for Dream Maker and Pager.

BYOND Games

Exentriks Gaming is living up to their phonic name in the best way possible with the release of some amazing GIFS of Transcendence to drool over. Keeping an eye out for details, you'll meet Aku, the spirit of knowledge and wisdom; and the Great King, who was imprisoned in a tree. A quick attack demonstration is held, followed by a tour of the Spartan encampment. If that's not enough, you can check out more frequent updates on his Twitter feed.

Yutput has released Epoch as a free-to-play game! Create a character, take down bosses, and gain skills in this impressive RPG. New weapons, armors, and areas are able to be found. To complete the game, he has also added a final boss battle, and the ability to ascend once the end has been reached, allowing for endless challenge.

Roleplaying epic, Sigrogana Legend 2 got into the spirit of Halloween over the prior weekend. Monsters had a collection of candy to drop, hired shopkeepers have a few new convenience features, and a creativity category has been added to Legend Authoring.

NullQuery has released two development logs for Terminus, a roleplaying game that takes place in an underground bunker, and from there, it is up to the players to build, destroy, interact, and fight. One unique aspect is the inclusion of Javascript enabled computers, allowing the Dungeon Masters to control the world using code in real-time. Anyone up to make a game in a game?

AvidAnimeFan has been progressing along on Ki Warriors, A PVP fighting game, with the goal of removing all of the traditional BYOND interface elements and replacing them with more appropriate and appealing custom menus. On screen chat has been set for a goal as well, but first, a few quick touch ups on skills.

Election day has come and gone, and its been a while since Kumorii has held a poll. Instead he has posted the latest plans and progress for Skirmish. Skirmites will soon see better game performance and terrain features, such as little ledges that hopefully make a comical noise when you hop down from them. A little further down the line, plans to fully implement some half-baked features are set, along with the addition of magic, as the game nears its one-year anniversary in February.

Paradox County is a survival horror game currently in development, its low-res and dark atmosphere mix quite well together, keeping one wondering what is around the next curve. For the moment, there's nothing to jump out at you, as the groundwork has only been laid.

Kaiochao created a Tabletop Simulator, complete with coins to flip, dice to roll, and pieces of plain and colored paper to scribble on with the crayons. And as coincidence would happen, it doesn't take long before I have thrown everything every which way, and it actually looks like my tabletop.

  • Need some loops in your game? Kozuma3 shows you some advantages.
  • Then Rushnut built on the idea to create a more in-depth global update loop.
  • Konlet released a library to help developers manage keyboard inputs.
  • NullQuery published a library to allow developers to store and access data using PostgreSQL.

I'd like to point out though that my intention is for players to control the world using code in real-time, through interaction with computers in the game...

Anyone up to make a game in a game?

...though this will certainly be one of the possibilities. ;-)

Not only are the individuals in this Skype chat, the majority of the projects detailed were actively developed (With screen sharing so you can understand the madness) in the chat too!

Hey man, some of us want different loops running at different speeds, and some of us don't want to only add mobs and the such like, some of us want to add datums too.

Also, the quoting being broken is another reason everyone should go +1 this- http://www.byond.com/forum/?post=1981238

In response to Toonie

BYOND has a Steam group, if that's what you're talking about.
