Probably not feasible, but I figured I'd ask anyway.
I run BYOND in Wine, and software rendering is very CPU-intensive in this setup; SS13 runs at ~1fps, the map editor sized to any more than about half my screen at 100% zoom lags significantly on repositioning the viewport, at 50% it only gets worse.
In-game, I can use hardware rendering and run (network permitting) at 60fps or even higher, while barely registering any CPU load. With the map editor, it seems this isn't currently possible; is it at all feasible to implement a hardware rendering mode in the map editor?
