I really no idea about the details of this. I switched goonstations lighting over to rely on plane masters to do some neat effects, and it works fine for all AMD users.
However, for a majority of nvidia users it reportedly goes berserk in various ways depending on the card. For some people the lighting plane renders with BLEND_OVERLAY, for others it flickers like crazy.
The plane masters are overlays to an object in the users screen with a screen_loc of 1,1 in orders to allow transforms to be done to them. Plane 0 was also given a plane master. I'll try and set up a test project but it's really slow without being able to replicate the problem myself.
