I've always wondered why Dragon Universe appears on the front page as the first of Byond considering the many violation, profiting, nudity, DDoS, and sexual themes to it. The true owner Exgenesis was known for posting picture of his genitalia and porn on numerous occasions as well as sending DDoS attacks around the website. Most of his offenses were in the past but it wasn't discrete and I'm pretty sure the harm on the community is beyond repair at this point. I was talking to a friend of mine on the subject and realized it wasn't slander to say something that has substantial witnesses behind it even if his infamous days are somewhat behind him. Considering it's obviously a fan game with all the same designs as Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball Z, I don't see how it can earn such a high income off of in-game benefits that rip off the Byond community. It's making a sustainable income far past what Byond is making in donations unless there is something I'm unaware of. To my knowledge the only thing he's done to make it original is remixed some of the names of the races and planets to seem like a different from Dragon Ball Z, despite them still having the romaji names. No sane person would directly sue them, but isn't it also on Byond to manage the content if deemed inappropriate?

BYOND does not "endorse" any particular games. If a game ends up in Published, it's because a moderator took a quick look at the hub entry and thought it reasonably looked like it could be original content. The line between homage, parody, and infringement is often indistinct, and for that reason anyone can make a mistake; and once placed, a game usually stays where it is out of deference to whoever put it there. But responsibility for games' content rests solely on the game authors, as it always has, and BYOND has always gladly complied with valid takedown requests should the need arise.

And as for nudity and other such stuff, none of that shows up on the hub entry. BYOND does not, because we cannot, police in-game content or activity. Individual users, and to a lesser extent the hosts, are the ones responsible for activity, just as game authors are responsible for built-in content.
The game hosts and the game owners go hand in hand. The management of it in-game is dictated to extremes and the content isn't original even in the code. I agree with you with not policing in-game, but what about it being positioned first? https://i.gyazo.com/b47c63f451f8bdcc6280c0b25211bec4.png

And since I'm not the creator of Dragon Ball Z can I still fill out a valid takedown request for internet crimes that I can't directly prove? I'm not sure that you'd take down the off public view of a game because of this reason and for breaking fair use which is the only thing I CAN prove.

No thats a false takedown and its illegal. You have no rights here.
If the violations aren't visible on the hub entry, there's nothing we can do about them. The position it shows up on the listing isn't controlled by us either, it follows the same criteria as any other published game.

If that guy is making more money than BYOND itself just by posting pictures of his genitalia, he must have some pretty impressive genitalia.

I for one, would gladly pay you tuesday for a look at said genitalia today.
Now now, lets not put any genitalia out there. (said every woman ever to Empirez)

The position is dictated by a popularity algorithm that looks at a game's fans, especially recent fans, and compares to other published games. That algorithm isn't perfect, although we found it to be better than the ones that came before. The positioning of any game does not constitute an endorsement on BYOND's part, but on the fans' part.

But look, complaints about that game have always fallen into two camps, and I have just as little patience with both.

The first camp says the game is badly managed and has such-and-such problems within the game due to so-and-so on the staff. To which I say: any such issues with the game tend to be neon-sign obvious going in. If you don't like the way the game is run, don't play it. Carping about its management is just shouting into the wind. Dissuade others from playing all you like, but in a more appropriate venue.

The second camp thinks (incorrectly) that the game got some kind of special treatment, and that a particular other game should therefore get special treatment as well. Human beings learn this argument at around two years old, and an alarming number never grow out of it.
The first argument is mostly based on the fact that games have been attacked and DDoS'd if the owners or staff dissuade people to play the game which is definitely illegal, but I had trouble proving it at the time. I had pretty large internet bills which I thought might be because my internet was frequently DDoS'd, but I could be wrong about the bills being part of the DDoS.

He has announced he had been communicating to you on more than one occasion so it was an assumption. Also trust me you don't want to look at it LOL I was only a kid at the time and it was a pretty big shock for me among other things. The pay 2 win features are really expensive and effective because they work like a "free" ios game where people spend hundreds.

Don't get me wrong though I'm pretty sure you wouldn't do anything like that. I love Byond and I love ya Lummox <3

Though we're off topic, I will let you and the others who've recently brought up HH know, Hentai Hill as you know it is dead, the browse() images that once linked to Strai (Falacy)'s Angelfire are now 404s, and the in-game content itself is best as a memory, since from what I can tell people think too highly of it.
Dragon Universe is literally trash. Any moderately skilled programmer and artist team could fully turn the game into a ghost town in a matter of weeks.

Best to not get bent out of shape about a game almost entirely populated by bots.

So why won't you do it? I'll wait.
