::Background::
I don't know what the trigger was, eleven days ago BYOND worked, ten days ago it didn't.
I use BYOND to play Space Station 13 frequently, but only on the Goonstation servers, as they are my favorite:
LLJK#1 byond://ss13.lljk.net:26100/
LLJK#2 byond://lljk2.goonhub.com:26200/
I never tried to connect to any other games before the problem.
My problem is similar to one posted already...
http://www.byond.com/forum/?post=2175701
but it hasn't been solved there yet.

::Symptoms::
Dream Seeker will always download the "resources" for a server when I try to connect the first time, putting them in the cache. However, it often fails to properly connect me to the game. In fact, it never does except on two servers, where the game it loads is not always playable.

==Paradise Station byond://45.58.123.194:6666/ Symptoms==
("Main Russian Server - White Dream" follows same pattern as Paradise)

Starts with a wonky loading screen, doesn't display if I'm reconnecting after only a short period of time, like the ad-screen usually does...

Moves to the BYOND members ad...

At some point it will always black out, like this...

But it keeps counting down, out of view until it moves to either this broken game...

OR this not broken game. I dunno what makes it not broken sometimes.

==Colonel Marines byond://play.colonial-marines.com:1400 Symptoms==
(Yogstation, Hippie Station, The Goonstation Servers and "Main Russian Servers - Blue Shift" follows same pattern as Colenel Marines)

The ad screens are the same, (unless I'm reconnecting after a short period of time) but when it's done, it either freezes like this...

Or Dream Seeker continues working in the background, not doing anything, and I have to manually end it.

::Closing::

For other BYOND games, it's a similar issue. I fussed with it for a little awhile to confirm it's the same issue: Some games load, some do not.

I'm happy to give any information about my system, just tell me what you need.

::Edit::

I found a log in Event Viewer, it is not helpful to me, but someone else could help maybe?

that white screen looks like the issue with laptops that have hybrid video cards. Try disabling your second video card via device manager (right click the start menu icon, go to device manager, under display adapters, disable the one thats not intel)
In response to MrStonedOne
Thanks! Part of my problem is definitely solved now. Paradise will now consistently work, as long as my NVIDIA card is disabled. Unfortunately for me, I have little to no interest playing on that server.

Could be a step in the right direction though, the two problems could be related?? As in, one problem makes my video card stop playing nicely and also does... another thing?

More advice appreciated from anyone, even if it's just spit-balling.
