So, basically, I log in via the Byond pager and click on "Join Game", the window will pop up and then instantly close.
This needs a lot more information. I've moved it to BYOND Help because 1) it's almost definitely not a bug, but a help issue and probably related, and 2) it didn't have nearly enough info for a bug report.

If Dream Seeker is crashing, there should be some data regarding that in the Windows event viewer. If it's not crashing, it might be hanging out in the background; you'll want to check Task Manager to make sure there are no Dream Seeker instances open.

Also if you have multiple monitors, it's possible that's part of the problem. Dream Seeker might be trying to open up on another monitor.
Okay, so, it's something about Dream Seeker crashing, I checked Task Manager and saw no issue with it running in the background, this happened out of nowhere. Been playing fine for the past months.

I don't use multiple monitors.
Then you need to check the Windows event viewer to see what the crash logs say.
How to open the crash log, first time using Windows event viewer.

So, after finding how to use the Event log, here's the issue thingy:

Gyazo has not been working for me. The event log however is text, and text is going to be much easier to work with anyway. Just copy and paste from that. You can put it in a <dm> ... </dm> block if you like.

So it's hanging rather than crashing, which is useful information, but more useful is the info that you're using an outdated build. Stop using 509 and get to 510 at least. Ideally you should actually be running 511.

I updated my version of Byond, still the same problem.
What antivirus and/or security software are you running? That's been known to interfere.

Okay, so, something new happened. When I tried to click Join, a popup appeared telling me "Dream Seeker is crashing, maybe you should reinstall?", something like that. However, I've reinstalled about five times now.

I run Malware bytes.
What does the popup say exactly? I need specifics, even a screenshot. (Don't use Gyazo though.)

Ask and you shall receive.

That popup doesn't say anything about reinstalling.
Second one says "Perhaps you should reinstall Byond."
I need the exact wording of the dialog, please. A screenshot would be very helpful.
He posted exactly what you're asking for, the link above has two screenshots.
Oh. Odd, I didn't see the second screenshot the first time.
I found where those messages come up. That happens if the request that launches the process fails for some reason.

The question now is, what's interfering? If you open up the Program Files (x86)\BYOND\bin directory and simply double-click dreamseeker.exe, what happens? Is there possibly a file permission issue?

Also, I'm still wondering what security software might be in play.
