Hello everyone!

Such a bad thing for a first post.

Yesterday I installed Byond. Tried both, first installer, then zip. Unfortunately, both end up with the same error. Game tries to load a games list but to no avail. http://i.imgur.com/JnTx0ff.png
Lurking around forums I found some advices to turn on ActiveX (done), to remove Windows' update KB313*sth*. I don't have such update on my computer.

Sadly, again, no result. Tried with compatibility mode, still nothing.

Windows 10, Byond version 511.1381
Does your Windows username contain any non-standard characters? Things like accents will cause BYOND to load improperly. If so you'll need to change your BYOND directory to something without those characters in it.
Hmm... It may be the cause. If I recall correctly, my Windows' user account is same as my name, so it'd contain "ę" in it. As for now I can't really check it as I'm in train. I'll write when I check it. Thanks!
Do you happen to have any idea how to change it? I've installed BYOND in C:\Games\ which doesn't contain any non-standard character. Only name of main Win10 acc consists of "ę", nothing more.

That Windows KB update is from an old, old issue that has not been in play for well over a year and was fixed by Microsoft, so I wish people would stop doing that.

Nadrew is right about the user name; the problem is that while BYOND is installed in a safe directory, BYOND's user data is not. Open up the pager, and go to Preferences | Advanced. Change your user directory to something like C:\BYOND or C:\Games\BYONDData or something, anything that will be free of unwanted characters. That will clear up the problem.
@Lummox JR:

Thank you! That worked! :)

@Nadrew:

Thank you too. :)
