Just got a chromebook and I when I try to download byond I get a popup that says that the program is only designed for a pc using Windows software.Just curious to know if there's a way to work around this.

only if you get linux on said chromebook and there is a linux build of byond which i believe there is but only hosting games. however theres a lot of limitations thats probably expanded since ive last used chromeos that locks down the os so even that might be a lost cause for chromebooks.

If you can run .exe files on there then read this: http://www.byond.com/ forum/?post=2243235&page=2#comment23421842

Chromebooks use ChromeOS, a Linux-based operating system.
This means that, with your current Chromebook configuration, you will not be able to play BYOND games on it. You are able, however, to host servers if you would like. I am not familiar with ChromeOS, but I vaguely remember people having some success playing BYOND games using something called Wine, which allows you to run (quite a few, but not all) Windows programs on Linux. |
