Don't Automatically Follow Posts

Issue hasn't been assigned a status value.
Being alerted to new posts by other people you follow is good, but being automatically subscribed to said posts is annoying.

There should either be a way to toggle or disable this behavior.

Would it make sense to have it ask if you want to follow the post the first time you make a comment?

I believe the way most places do this, is they provide you a toggle:

By default: Always follow posts I'm part of | Only follow posts I author | Never follow posts automatically

And then provide a 'Follow this thread' button, that you can click on manually, in a thread.
