"Encountered an Improper Argument"

Descriptive Problem Summary: I have this problem since 510 and I never fix it. My last option is format the pc, I hate this bug, really.

Numbered Steps to Reproduce Problem:
1. Open game of choice
2. Press button
3. Receive error message "Encountered an improper argument"
4. Click ok
5. Game stops working


Expected Results: No popup, game doesn't stop working, verbs aren't causing error.

Actual Results: Popup appears, game stops working, unable to use certain verbs.

Does the problem occur:
Every time? Or how often? Every time
In other games? Yes.
In other user accounts? Yes.
On other computers? Nobody else seems to have the issue, but I don't have another computer to check with.

When does the problem NOT occur? Never

Did the problem NOT occur in any earlier versions? If so, what was the last version that worked? 509.

Downgrade work? Nope.
What "button" are you referring to in step 2?

Where is BYOND installed on your system and where is your BYOND user directory? The only thing I've reliably heard as a cause of this error message is when a user compiles a game in Dream Maker and a file has much too long a path.

What is your system locale?

That really doesn't help me. What do you mean specifically? Even a screenshot would be useful.

Nevermind, I fix it changing the systme locale to another one and later backing to English (USA)
Interesting. I discovered a similar post on Autodesk's forums that suggested the same thing.
