Descriptive Problem Summary:
There doesn't appear to be a publisher assigned to the installer, the byond main launcher, dreamseeker, dreammaker. Causing Windows and Anti-Viruses to flag them as dangerous.

Numbered Steps to Reproduce Problem:
Download 512.1429's installer.
Install the game.
Windows gives alert saying it's blocking the installer due to an unknown publisher.
Install anyways.
Launch BYOND.
Anti-Virus (Avast) flags launcher as potential malware and quarentines it.
Add exception for launcher.
Join a game.
Anti-Virus flags Dreamseeker as potential malware and quarentines it.
Add exception for dreamseeker.
Open Dreammaker to work on game.
Anti-Virus flags Dreammaker as potential malware and quarentines it.

Expected Results:
Installer to run, have windows give an alert about OK'ing the install, all programs to launch normally after that.

Actual Results:
Every single component of byond is being flagged negatively by windows or anti-virus

Does the problem occur:
Every time? Or how often?
Every time since updating to 512.1429.
In other games?
N/A
In other user accounts?
Unknown
On other computers?
Unknown

When does the problem NOT occur?
Haven't gotten it to not occur since updating.

Did the problem NOT occur in any earlier versions? If so, what was the last version that worked? (Visit http://www.byond.com/download/build to download old versions for testing.)
I updated from 512.1427 and that version didnt have these issues.

Workarounds:

I haven't found any. I would assume rollback to v512.1427 though.

This is not a BYOND bug; it's your antivirus sharting the bed with false positives. Report the false positive to thr company and tell your software to ignore it.

The BYOND executable and .dll files are not signed, it's true. Frankly signing is a mostly meaningless racket and way too complicated to bother with.
