Problem description:

So I recently started coding on DM again after a relatively long hiatus and discovered much to my frustration that I couldn't create DMI files anymore, specifically I could create them all day long but the instant I tried to include any references to them in the code I would get a 'bad file' error, doesn't matter what context, or what the contents were, all of my DMI files refuse to work.

List of shit I've tried:

Reinstalling the Beta Version -> Bad File

Reinstalling the Stable Version -> Bad File

Attempting both Stable and Beta while signed in -> Bad File

Clearing BYOND's cache -> Bad File

Deleting the whole project and starting from scratch -> Bad File

Running as an Administrator -> Bad File

Changing the file names -> Bad File

Changing the reference names -> Bad File

Trying to reference an empty DMI -> Bad File

Trying to reference a DMI with one icon -> Bad File

Trying to reference an icon state from an empty DMI -> Bad File

Trying to reference an icon state from a filled DMI -> Bad File

Trying to use multiple DMI files -> Bad File

Trying various combinations of names and references -> Bad File

Creating a Map File and attempting to compile with a Map -> Bad File

Trying to use DM through a desktop shortcut -> Bad File

Creating an evironment consisting of only a single DMI and a single reference to it -> Bad File

Adding BYOND DM and DD to the Anti-Virus safe list -> Bad File

Disabling Anti-Virus -> Bad File

Including the .dmi in the file name while creating the DMI -> Bad File

Adding a DMI to a project that was already capable of running -> Bad File

Screaming at the computer -> Bad File

Joining the tg station coderbus under the name bad_coder -> MrStonedOne told me I need Jesus

-> Bad File
Okay nevermind false alarm everybody I just forgot to use single quotations instead of double, truly my dipshittery knows no bounds.

This shit is why I keep taking multiple month long breaks from coding...
