Today I started work on the main map. Doesn't it look pretty? DOESN'T IT!?!??!?!
Anyway, I've written some scripts that update how logins are handled. When you login these scripts teleport you to the beast statue pictured in the above screenshot and register you as an online user. (lots of internal programming nonsense)
The beast statue is located in the center of each guild's capital. It is their mascot, if you will. (keep in mind that there are two guilds in the game; and each player must choose one)
Later on the beast statue will take on the role of a "central" warpgate. Allowing anyone to move to another part of the map with ease. Until then, it's a nice looking ornament (and a cool spot to login to).
After I got tired of working on the map, I upgraded the chat system to support "speech bubbles" (also in the above screenshot). It's all is starting to look pretty neat.
