There should be an option for publishing game posts to the community forum. I don't like flooding the community forums with update notices.

So something I've been wanting to try out with Feed is a sidebar where we could list the top players, community updates, etc. Another use for it will likely be a mini-shop where players can use their score(kills) to purchase ammo, revives, medkits, and depending on how far I decide to go with this, weapons. The screenshot is a WIP so the color scheme and all of that is definitely not final. I just want some opinions on the idea.

They show up in the relevant games section of the those forums. Unless you're asking for the option not to "publish" them?

The concept sounds OK, but the default BYOND interface controls looks out of place and lame.
^ this guy has an answer for everything....

"There should be an option for publishing game posts to the community forum" I think its a good idea less spam!

I have to agree the default BYOND interface just doesn't look good.
I think the interface can look nice when well done, but I don't think it should be placed next to the game screen, I think it should be placed when your at the main menu (which should be accessible when your in-game).

That would kill it's accessibility during higher waves when you don't have the time to go back to the main screen(which is out of the question to begin with).
Oh right, in terms of buying ammo/etc. Well, what you could do instead is make use of the ammo boxes, when you walk up to an ammo box, instead of recharging ammo, it opens up the sub-menu and lets you buy ammo/health/revives.

[Edit:]
You could give cash along side kills, or even make drop-able coins or something. Since the game is wave based and gets harder over time, it would make sense to make weapons buy-able, meaning you'd have to get further in the game to get more cash to allow you to buy better weapons. If not that, then possibly make it so enemies drop better weapons the higher the wave is? Anyways, just shooting some ideas out, not sure if you want to go that direction.
Well, the original concept was to include some sort of currency that players could use to purchase weapons. The more I think about it, the better the idea seems to be, although it would definitely interfere with the current stratagy behind the game where players collect secondaries and ammo from drops.

... Actually, What about classes? There could be a class that can get grenade/molotov clusters as drops.
Classes could be fun but I don't think ammo types should be the limiting factors to make each class different.

What about personalized skills that each class only has access to? Like setting up a bomb, or throwing flashbangs.

Or being able to distract a zombie, or perhaps increased ammo or firing power
Hmm, this idea seems to move away from the current game but, for classes, you could have a set of weapons for each class. So for instance each class would have a different type of pistol, MG, etc, so that you can always pick up the ammo, but your weapon would function differently from other classes. You could also make use of the buy menu to upgrade your weapons, along with the other noted items to buy.
Well, I don't want to limit what weapons a player can use based on their class. Rather give each class a set of perks like, more health, zombies drop more money, stronger bullet damage, ammo drops(seeing as if this goes through, weapon drops will be incredibly uncommon).
I think you guys will like what I have in the works now.
I'll probably host a trial server to test what I have so far. To sum it up, I'm improving the interface and taking some of Falacy's suggestions into consideration. I'll also be adding multiple game modes, but whether or not that will be in a separate patch, I'm not sure. We will see!

Also; Sorry for the necropost!
