This is my first grass icon from scratch of course. But I don't even know if it looks like grass at all. Any tips on how to improve it. Is it any good?

It doesn't look like real grass. What I did was make strokes going upwards with 3 or 4 different colors. Also you need to make your grass more seamless. Normally if you move the icon around with the left, right, up, and down arrow keys and work away from the edges, it may help make the seams less visible. The verticle seams are very visible. Here is what my grass looks like.

You can kind of see blades of grass in this. I put my grass on gimp and hit make seamless so it helped a little bit with destroying the seams though I tried it for your and it still took away the seams but made it look worse overall. Another thing you can do is instead of making a 32 by 32 grass you can make a 64 by 64 grass and it will be more seamless. The bigger the icon you make, the more seamless it is. There are tutorials everyone just browse the pixel art forums or go to the main byond site and search grass under resources.

Oh, thank you. Yours does look like it has blades of grass. Anyways, I did use a tutorial for that grass lol, I am just a crapping pixel artist. Thank you again, I will try to remake the grass.

this should give you a better idea, something that has ran across my mind though, breaking the grid.... if you make the icon tiles on a bigger scale then input it into its own icon file then the grid would not show up as clear...

anyways just attempt that tutorial, then develope it into your own style :)
