I've been trying recently ( thanks to Bakasensei'tutorial ) to make some random turfs Such as walls floors carpet which all work pretty well.
But than i came across a problem with GRASS & SAND & WATER is there ANY way that i can get some sort of Pattern in it other than it looking flat .

Example :

Use And you grass is way to dark for me to see. For weater you either have to make it manually, or use water paaterns/renders in Photoshop.

You can get a similar effect with the spray tool in Paint. It works wonders.

You guys should really read this

Seriously anyone can do that what you are doing... why not make somthing that actually looks like grass rather then just taking the green charateristic of it.

Spray on grass is very unattractive. What you have there strikes me more as that thin layer of pond scum that sits on top of the water. Focus on actual blades of grass. Focus on actual pixel art and bring out details. Make it worthwhile.

Why would that mean that?

It wasn't all directed at you, your post was just next in line so I went off of it. The OP's grass looked equally sprayed on. Breath.

Question to bakasensei : So there is no way to get more of a grassy patern or ANY kind of patern in it in photoshop?

Question to AmonR : Do you use paint ,DM or photoshop for turfs or any art work in general?
In response to Son Danny
There are tons of ways, like actually drawing it for one.

What your asking for Son Danny is a shortcut for good work, well im sorry to say this AGAIN AND AGAIN(on msn) but there isnt a good way to achieve decent turf without effort... so rather then brushing random 3 shades of green... try pixeling it and take time on it.

I use Photoshop for everything. Pixel tools only for my pixel art of course.

Yeah, start by pixeling thick blades then work outwards. 1 pixel dots don't look much like grass.
Here is a grass turf I made awhile back.
