Whatever the hell you think is reasonable.

Dan and Tom police the language used on this site, because it's their site. They don't police the language or contents of specific games, because the games aren't theirs. Put whatever the **** you want in it... just remember, if the title or promotional materials are inappropriate, you won't be able to put them up on the hub.

I should also add that you can't put anything you want. Certain content (child pornography, for example) is just outright illegal.
Also, there are certain US laws restricting what sort of content you can make accessible to those under 13. Depending on your project, you might need a disclaimer about that. -AbyssDragon |

That's true, and I thought about mentioning that, but I didn't want to confuse the issue. Those aren't BYOND-specific rules, after all.

Dan has the S#@% word on his site. And that has what to do with what? |

No, but I think the one about content for children (I think the law was called COPA.. Child Online Protection Act?) is important. Websites are being made to put up things constantly because of it. I suppose BYOND is safe for now, but I don't know how long that would last if it was more popular.
Not that I find this law anything less than vile and reprehensible. -AbyssDragon |

As I understand it, the rule on what you make accessible to which ages only holds in cases where you can know the ages, such as if you ask for that information. This is to prevent, for example, privacy breaches of someone under 13 who has given you their information to sign up for a service. (That's why this most broadly affects services like ICQ, MSN, etc., lots of which do profiling and collect all that information and more.) I believe this essentially translates to a "don't ask, don't tell" policy for user age. The only obvious exception I think would be in cases where you geared an entire site's content toward kids, making it clear that you were intending to reach a certain age group in there. Lummox JR |
