Making A Board Game

I'm making a board game, and someone told me the whole map would have to be hud. Is that true? Or could I make just a normal map. Thanks.

There is no set way to make a board game. It would probably be easier to someone starting to use the map and not the HUD for everything :)

You could use the HUD for some parts, but that depends on how the board game works. HUDs are for things that only one player should be able to see. The board and the pieces should be visible to all players, so it would be silly to use a HUD for it.
