it can get extremely expensive for bandwidth and the old byond was a bandwidth hog... I can see it considering we don't know how many people actually use byond.

A private T3 line, but even that only runs about 1,500 a month, but the next highest I belive is OC-3, but that runs upwards of 10,000 a month
