Hello, everyone. I'd like to introduce myself.

My name is Ryan. I'm a student of computer engineering in Wisconsin, USA and I like to make video games as a hobby. I use BYOND and these forums to keep up with other game makers and watch out for new developments. I'm not much of an artist, but I enjoy making little sprites for games and I very much enjoy designing gameplay and user experience.

My favorite current video games are:
Heroes of Newerth (http://www.heroesofnewerth.com/),
Minions (http://www.casualcollective.com/#games/Minions),
Quake Live (http://www.quakelive.com/),
Penumbra (http://www.penumbragame.com), and
War§ow (http://www.warsow.net/)

My favorite bands of the moment are:
The Rest (http://www.therestmusic.com/),
Paniq (http://www.paniq.org/),
Apparat (http://www.apparat.net),
Minus the Bear (http://www.minusthebear.com/),
State Radio (http://www.stateradio.com/),
Beep! Beep! back up the truck (http://www.beepbeep.nl), and
Awesome New Republic (http://anrmiami.com/).
My musical taste is pretty wide and I listen to music from light (http://www.jimstark.no/) to heavy (http://www.satyricon.no/) to unusual (http://merzbow.net/).

I'm a Free software (http://www.gnu.org/) and Free culture (http://freeculture.org/) activist, and I'm involved in the development of a number of open-source software projects including
Ubuntu (http://www.ubuntu.com/),
Glou (http://sourceforge.net/projects/glou/), and
Ecere (http://www.ecere.com/).

My website is http://ryanprior.com, I'm ryanprior on Freenode, and you can probably find my Facebook via the BYOND group.

I've been a member of the forums for more than 8 years, so it's been quite some time since I've introduced myself. I'd like to encourage long-time forum users as well as new users to introduce themselves. Our community constantly churns, but I look forward to getting to know you all better.
My name is Lee. I'm from a small rural city located in Victoria, Australia. I graduated from VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education, highschool year 12) in 2006 and since then have made no effort to further my education. Due to the now lifting financial crisis I've been out of work for the past year.

My top ten favourite video games can be found here.

My favourite bands vary between my mood at the time. But generally anything in the realm of Metal works for me. My favourite band of all time however, still remains to be the same since 2004 and that is Sonata Arctica.

My personal website (http://www.tiberath.com) which contains works of prose I write for no other reason than to fill in time.

I'm strongly interested in the fields of scripting and programming and currently know a fair bit in the creation of websites as well as DM for the creation of games in BYOND (one day). Presently I'm attempting to learn C++, more specifically the Windows API, of which I'm not getting very far for no ones fault but my own.

I'm part of no other online community other than BYOND (though I may join another for a brief moment of time, I'm never there very long) and presently volunteer to do work here and there.

That's about all there is to know about me. Oh yes, ladies, I'm single.

My name is Foomer. I make a point of not spreading my personal information around on the internet. I love adventure, exploration, and finding stuff. I hate senseless violence, sorcery, pornography, stupidity and anime, among other things. I also don't like band music. I prefer "theme" music, instrumental, often from computer/video games.

I'm a graphics artist, but I don't cater to pixel art, I just do whatever it takes to get the graphics I want. I'm an experienced but not necessarily talented programmer, I've been programming in DM since mid '01 and its the only language I know. I'm terrible at math.

I'm a huge bargain hunter and a total coupon nut. My recent grocery purchases include 48 boxes of cereal, 16 boxes of granola bars, 8 boxes of crackers, 4 doughnuts and a small loaf of cinnamon bread - all of which cost me a total of $4.50. I routinely surf sites like craigslist looking for great deals.

There are around 20 computers in my house, most of which I use for spare parts and printing coupons.

I'm a moderator at BYOND.com. I have a guild dedicated to single player games. Its open for other people to contribute but no one ever does. I've created several libraries recently and published three games. I'm working on a fourth, but having trouble determining exactly how I want it to be played before I build it.

There's much, much more to know about me, but that's a brief generalization of a small part of who I am.

I also like cars. I drive a Subaru. I love my Subaru. It rocks. In spite of the palm tree which fell on it.
I'm currently a student of Law in the Midwestern United States. Creating games, making music, and writing poems are my hobby. I've been using BYOND for little over 5 years and I used Game Maker for around 3. I was a major addict to reading indie game news daily, but I have gradually moved away from doing such a thing. Right now, I enjoy studying some of Tupac's lyrics and philosophies, as well as reading about conspiracies, such as Illuminati and the New World Order.

Although, I am a game designer, I actually do not play video games a lot. But I do have a few games that I enjoy:
* Starfox 64
* Mario Kart 64
* Starsiege: Tribes

My favorite artist is:
* Tupac Amaru Shakur

What I wish to do before I graduate from college:
* Play Space Station Silicon Valley
* Read and study the Bible, William Shakespeare, Niccolò Machiavelli, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Sun Tzu, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Maya Angelou's work.
* Rebuild a car
* Get some poems published

I do not have much knowledge of other 'languages' other than DM and GML. The stuff I believe in often contradict other's beliefs, so I will typically try to be conservative and evaluate others opinions in a non bias effort.

My name is Flame Sage. I don't like putting email addresses and contact information, because the strangest people seem to contact me. I love traditional RPGs like Oblivion, and the occasional FPS (Half Life 2, Team Fortress 2). I'm mostly very kind to people, though I don't take well to stupidity and laziness at all. I don't really enjoy tradational music, I mostly listen to Internet Radio (http://christianrock.net/).

I'm a programmer for the most part, I started BYOND in '01, but didn't actually start this key until early '02. I've started as many projects as stars in the sky, but never really finishes them, mostly because of other people (pixel artists) bombing out on me. I'm experienced in HTML, CSS, PHP, Visual Basic, and currently trying to learn Python.
I am also terrible at math.

Generally, I'm just enjoying college life right now, while doing many self-taught things, I expected to get more out of college, so I hope once I get to a university the computer classes will at least be a bit challenging.

I currently have 7 computers in my home (including parents) but I currently have 3 computers. One is my Desktop, one's my HTPC / File Server, and the other is my laptop

I (attempt) to maintain the Linux Guild here (http://members.byond.com/linuxguild) and despite it being inactive, there are quite a few good tutorials on how to install BYOND on Linux.

So that's a short description of who I am. :)

...and so too shall I.

My name is Zac. I live in Ohio, USA, though I recently spent a year in the state of Washington---a short hike to be sure---under the guise of a college student. This year I've taken off from school with the intent of saving money to move to the west coast permanently, perhaps followed by another year off before returning to school (the latter year so as to qualify as an in-state student for significantly cheaper tuition).

Some of my interests include, in no particular order:
  • Partying
  • Programming
  • Software reverse-engineering
  • Hacking (I'm no black-hat, mind)
  • Go
  • Skateboarding
  • American football
  • Art (including, but not limited to, pixel art)
  • Video games
  • Women
  • Food; especially steak, chicken, and sushi
  • Music
  • Technology; especially mobile phones and other portable electronics
  • Working out
I enjoy some animé and some manga. I enjoy the Naruto manga but do not watch the animé (besides the movies which have been released). Some others, either through manga or animé, which I approve of: I've recently been re-watching the YuYu Hakusho series because there were a lot of episodes I missed, particularly those that aired after it got moved to a 5:30am Saturday time slot in the US.

My musical tastes are very open and varied; I enjoy everything from rock to rap, from celtic to country, and so on. I think the only genres I specifically can't stand are religious ones and that genre which has the "hardcore" vocalist you really just can't understand and wish would shut up. Some of my favorite bands at the moment are:
  • Lifehouse
  • 3 Doors Down
  • Matchbox Twenty
  • Audioslave
  • Goo Goo Dolls
My favorite video games are RPGs, and my favorites among those are of the Final Fantasy lineage. Final Fantasy VII is my particular favorite. I also really enjoy such games as Super Smash Bros. Brawl (or any of its predecessors), the Rock Band series, and the Madden NFL games. Lately I've been playing through Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions on my PSP, and I am eagerly awaiting Final Fantasy Versus XIII (official site, trailer) because it seems to be the most promising Final Fantasy title in years.

My programming tastes are largely biased toward C++, though I use C on occasion and Python and Java to lesser extents. I'm also pretty well versed in web technologies such as PHP/XHTML/CSS/JavaScript/AJAX. Occasionally I write things in DM as well. I rarely actually write things in any form of assembly language, though I do have a working knowledge of x86 and MIPS assembly languages to aid in reverse-engineering endeavors.

Over the past week I've been slowly reading through Core Techniques and Algorithms in Game Programming. It's a good book for those interested in the mechanics of game development and about everything that is involved in writing modern games---circa 2003---and it offers thorough introductions on most topics involved in game programming (though with little actual code, so it's not a one-stop guide).

I'm a Linux proponent, though I use Windows more often than not. I'm a firm disbeliever in both Macs and iPhones. I believe in free software and both support and encourage open platforms.
