Casual Quest

A fast paced, casual, multi player action game with a little RPG touch
ID:287894

I'd like a bit of info, who to contact, the pricing, etc.
$30.
Iain handles all that stuff personally.

It's a card system now so after four cards you'll get the option to pick your custom class.

You can also get a recolour of a class for $7.50 I think, in case you just preferred to play a certain class and wanted it to be unique.

The way I've seen Iain do it is you pitch what you'd like to see, and he figures out how to work it into the game in a balanced way.

Full customs are 30 dollars, yeah.

It takes him like 5 - 6 hours sometimes more on one custom though.
In response to Altrez
Well then, here's my idea.

I'll call him the Mechanoid.

--Base health: 6-10 (Whatever seems appropriate)

--Base Aura: 8, Starts with 0 (This is a special circumstance)

--Base Speed: Varies from 1-3 (More on this further down)

--Aura Regen Rate: Equal to that of Nomad, no way to
replenish aura, except with what I'll explain further
down.

--Space Attack: Varies from puff of compressed air (0 dmg)
to a large laser beam (4 dmg).

--Z Skill, Charge: This skill will have a negative aura
cost of 1, and a cooldown of 1-2 seconds (Appoint a
number at your discretion), so it will take the mechanoid
8-16 seconds to charge to full power.

What this entails is that the more charge he has, the more effective he and his skills will become. What this affects is:

--1. Base Speed:

At 0-3 Aura, Base Speed is 1.

4-7 Aura, Base Speed is 2.

At 8 (Maximum) Aura, Base Speed will be 3.

--2. Space Attack Strength: Each time the mechanoid
attacks, he will be drained of one charge (Aura) except
in a special case.

At 0 Aura, it will deal no damage, but push enemies back.

At 1-3 Aura, it will be a small fireball
(Think Mage fireball) and deal one damage with
the same range as a lance.

At 4-7 Aura, it will be a larger fireball
(Second Mage Skill) and deal two damage with the
same range as a small mage fireball.

At 8 Aura, it will be a very large fireball
(About the size of a fireball the dragons shoot), deal 4
damage, and will travel until it hits something. If he
attacks at maximum charge, it will drain all of his aura,
so he will be forced to charge back up to deal more damage.

--3. X Skill Strength, Healing Beam: Imagine Robo from
Chrono Trigger, how he could heal party members with his
beams, basically this.

0 Aura: Unusable

1-3 Aura: Same Range and effectiveness of a cleric heal.

4-7 Aura: Same Range as before, but will heal for double
the healing, so it will heal two damage per use.

8 Aura: At maximum Aura, his healing beam will turn into
a revival beam, reviving everyone within range at 1
health, and healing all others for 2 health. Will drain
all charge.

--4. C Skill Strength, Energy Shielding: Somewhat like the
barrier skill the Minstrel has.

0 Aura: Unusable

1-3 Aura: Self-Cast, deals no damage, but knocks enemies
back. Destroyed after a single collision.

4-7 Aura: Range cast, same range as heal skill. Will put
a barrier on everyone in range, knocks enemies back,
still no damage, destroyed after two collisions.

8 Aura: Clone of the Minstrel skill, Map-wide cast.

Constructive Criticism, GOGO

No replies? I am sad.

You want a reply?

Hm. Some things to think about:

- With the Z skill, how would you want to know when you can charge? In a way, this is basically handled by juggling the aura rate, as more likely than not, with your setup, you're gonna want to pound the Z button consistently anyways. How would this be different than a well-defined Aura Rate?

- Should the 0 aura attack (wind blow) be linear? I can see how this can be spammed to keep a row or column of enemies in line... This might be an OPed basic attack, is what I'm saying.

- Even though this is 'technically' 3 skills, this does go in an entirely different direction from every other CQ char (custom or not) because of the necessity of 'if' statements. You may need to consider that from Iain's POV, as this means a lot more programming and a lot more things to consider in terms of fairness.
In response to Sudzzuds
- 1. Just make the Z Skill an alternate form, a-la Vampire, that lasts for two seconds, and regenerates one aura when it ends.

- 2. Yeah, the wind blow is linear, but it would have the same range as a sword.

- 3. Well, since I don't have the files for the game, that's for Iain to figure out if it's codable or not.
This was actually a pretty cool idea. Sorry I missed it.
