Getting High Network Delays
Steps to Reproduce Problem:
When I log in games I'm getting high network delay's and that produces me lag. I ask ppl in OOC if they lagging too, but it seems it's just me. The thing is how do I fix network delays on 4.0??? I've always fixed it doing .configure network delay 0 . But now it doesn't work, what do I do?
G'day RickinX.

If you have Limewire or you are downloading things in the background, this will affect your play time, otherwise:

Are these games hosted with BYOND 3.x?

Listen, I don't really think this is an issue where my computer's specs are relevant. I got to fix the delay by myself, but the lag is still there. I think this is a region issue? I live in the Dominican Republic, my friend is currently having this problem too with all games...
We try to load resources from other games we haven't played and its like SUPER slow, and the ones we have already loaded in the cache don't seem to enter or when we enter we get huge lag. Our connection speeds are ADSL, my speed is 512kbps(Should be more than enough). I don't seem to find the cause for this problem, it has happened before but it got fixed like the day after. Today I was left homealone I could've trained alot xDDD! I dunno what's going on really...Everyone ingame say they have no lag, and the games I host and play with my Dominican friend are surprisingly lagless o-o(according to him).

Please help!

Pity that's not the case. System specs are always relevant in these situations. Without the full build number, I can't tell you if there was a relevant update between your version and the latest (provided you don't have it, which I can't tell). Without firewall and router information I can't tell if something might be interrupting your connection. Operating system is a given, they all differ, I specialise in WinXP and WinVista. Most Linux problems around here, I don't have a clue. Same with Win98. I was only like, 12 when we stopped using it.

But to the point: As much information about your system as humanly possible is what's necessary. We can't help you without said information, help us help you.

But just for you, I'll take a shot in the dark: Open up your pager, go to File -> Preferences, select the "Games" tab, and uncheck the third checkbox on that list "Use graphics hardware for displaying maps". Then attempt to play your game again.

Please help!

See, that's good to know.

Try to open a DOS shell and ping the gameserver in question.
I'd guess that your routing leads through a bottleneck, due to some reconfiguration.
