I have a router so I knew the only way I would be able to host was to set up a static IP and forward ports. I followed the steps on setting up a static IP, after that I wanted to forward my ports using PFConfig. To my surprise, after I added the application..I tried to update my router with the information, but it wasn't allowing it. If anyone knows a solution to this problem..that would be great. Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance.
You did not provide much information to base help on, I fear.
Which router are you using?
What do you mean by "it wasn't allowing it" (error message)?

It said something about buying a registration code. Is there another way to update my router without buying one? it asks for a credit card number and all that other stuff..but I do not have a credit card.

It seems that the software you were trying to use was shareware and would require you to buy it before you can use it to it's full extent.

With a bit of patience however, you should not even need any kind of special software, but could configure your router to port forward on your own, reading up on How do I host a game?

I'm not familiar with PFConfig, but it sounds like that's the program that's trying to get you to register first. You don't need to use anything like that to configure your router, though.

Your router's configuration is probably accessible through your Web browser (like typing http://10.0.0.1 or whatever), and from there you should be able to find the section on port forwarding. To find out how to forward ports on your router, I recommend checking out http://www.portforward.com or looking in your router's manual.
